In essence, the core responsibilities revolve around enhancing the software delivery process, improving system reliability, and fostering a collaborative DevOps culture. You will help build better systems and products on distributed on-prem infrastructure and Microsoft Azure Cloud. Our DevOps Engineers are experienced technologists with technical breadth and depth coupled with strong interpersonal skills. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will work directly with our Application Development, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines and production stability across technology stacks. Our Senior DevOps engineers play a critical role in bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, focusing on automating and streamlining workflows, ensuring system reliability, and driving efficiency throughout the software development lifecycle. **Roles and Responsibilities:** - Design and implement the overall DevOps strategy:Identifying areas for improvement, defining goals, and creating a roadmap for DevOps transformation. - Partners with Development and IT operations:Ensuring smooth integration of software releases into production environments - Implement automation and integration processes:Automating manual tasks like code deployment and infrastructure provisioning, and integrating systems and tools for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment. - Ensure system reliability and efficiency:Implementing monitoring systems, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing performance. - Mentor and teach existing team members:Guiding junior engineers and imparting knowledge effectively. - Lead CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance:Developing and maintaining pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment. - Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure:Implementing and managing cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure, and using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. - Implement containerization and orchestration solutions:Utilizing technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for efficient and scalable application deployment. - Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC):Managing infrastructure through code for consistency and version control. - Monitor and troubleshoot production issues:Ensuring high availability and resolving complex issues. - Promote Secure DevOps partnering with Cybersecurity on scanning using tools like Fortify, SonaType, WebInspect, and liaising with penetration testing teams **BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:** - 7+ years of specific technology experience in DevOps focused on distributed on-prem and cloud environments (Azure preferred, abut AWS and Google valuable) - 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience preferably in FinTech, Financial Services, or SaaS environments - Strong technical foundation:Including proficiency in cloud platforms, scripting languages (Python, Bash), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). - Experience with CI/CD tools:Such as Harness, Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI. - Strong understanding of system architecture:Including cloud services, microservices, and serverless architectures. - Mastery in automation tools and scripting languages:To streamline workflows and enhance deployment processes. - Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC):Using tools like Terraform - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities:To resolve complex infrastructure and application issues. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills:To effectively work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. - Leadership & management skills:effectively lead teams / drive transformation. - Adaptability & learning mindset:To quickly adjust to new technologies & methods - Experience with specific tools:Like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc. - Experience working with end user or developer communities
