**Direct Client Requirement**
**Job Title: Architect / Cloud Engineer (.NET / C#)**
**Location: Stamford, CT/Rye, NY (Hybrid)**
**Work Model:**
- Minimum 2 days per week on site in Stamford (preferred more)
- Remaining days split between New York office
- 1 day per week remote (WFH)

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Architect / Cloud Engineer with a strong .NET / C# development background to design, build, and support cloud-based solutions within a financial services environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a bank or hedge fund, deep technical expertise, and strong communication and collaboration skills.
This role requires hands-on engineering capability combined with architectural thinking to support highly scalable, secure, and low-latency systems used in trading, risk, and financial data platforms.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement cloud-native architectures using modern engineering best practices
- Develop and maintain high-performance applications using C# / .NET (.NET Core preferred)
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, traders, and technology teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions
- Architect and support distributed systems, APIs, and microservices
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and performance standards required in financial services
- Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior engineers
- Optimize systems for reliability, scalability, and low latency
- Participate in production support and incident resolution as needed
**Required Qualifications**
- Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET / .NET Core
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or Architect
- Prior experience in financial services, banking, or capital markets (mandatory)
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Experience designing scalable, secure, and high-availability systems
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Strong work ethic and ownership mindset
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience working in a hedge fund or trading environment
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Understanding of financial instruments, trading systems, or risk platforms
